Whey Protein and Fat Loss

Protein is essential when it comes to retaining muscle mass when dieting. In order to successfully achieve fat loss, calories in must be less then calories out. Simply put you have to use more energy then the energy you take in from foods. After all that is what calories are, a unit of energy.
However, the calories you reduce from the three macronutrients should be carbohydrates or fats only. Protein intake should actually be increased during dieting, in order to preserve and maintain your muscle mass. This is vital because the more muscle mass you have the more calories you burn.
This is usually where people have difficulty. Attaining the proper daily protein requirement is a daunting task as you eat more frequently. People tend to not have the time to get all their meals consumed which would lead to not achieving their daily protein requirements.

This is where whey protein comes in handy, when it comes to protein nothing is more effective and efficient. Whey is easily absorbed and digested and is rich in amino acids which are extremely beneficial to muscle. If however, you wanted to slow the digestion rate at which the whey is absorbed you can easily add some flax seed oil which is a good healthy fat, that can actually promote greater fat loss.
It's important to consume your required protein amount not only to maintain your muscle but also protein utilizes more calories for the digestion process. Which means that you are burning more calories just by consuming whey protein.
